Point Of Interest, or POI files are files which can be installed on a satellite navigation system such as a Tomtom or Garmin satnav. Having these files installed enables you to have the precise position of hundreds of interesting locations at your finger tips. You can see them displayed on your satnav map and easily plot a route to one or more of them.
Each location has been checked for its precise position using Google Earth and Street View taking into account accessibilty etc. These are not just a conversion of post codes into locations. Entrances and exits to locations are not always by the same route. Some locations are not near to a road shown on a satnav, so the best approach road is shown which should ensure you find your destination. |
